We are right in the middle of the year! Ninja C has just released her first project of the year: “Muva“. Ninja C leans into a mother figure and owns the moniker Muva on this new song produced by Sam Lamara.
She explores mother hood on and off the microphone. “Muva” is a deserving coming of age for Ninja C as she declares she is “mother” insert to this rap game. She has definitely evolved; skill, musicality and prowess. She rides the beat from different shades of being Muva. This is her all these btches is my sons. She also has so much fun with it reminiscent being a child herself to having one.
Been building since I was age 2 (Pass the Legos)
I thank God when I pray/ little mini me/A treasure and blessing what can I say?
While at it Ninja C makes sure we “call her mother cause there can’t be another”. Uniquely there haven’t been so many female rappers from her era that have stayed so consistent and locked in with Ugandan Hip Hop as she has. As Hip Hop’s Princess from 2015, ten years later deservingly we are argued to mention mother. She shines on the Sam Lamara production. C sings, C raps too: she also talks building brick by brick.
the best in the game/ it’s time they acknowledge.
In the shadows I find my light
“Muva” is packed with quotables and it is clear C is letting off some things, basically clearing the air, speaking her truth. And for anyone thinking they know her off 3 or 4 ocasions that’s really old her. The Ninja C we are listening to is “hatari” and an approach that works flow wise, delivery and the pen.
On the other hand, Ugandan female rap deserves a mother figure; Ninja C might be up to it, and ready, really here to reap the fruits. As she builds her legend, we salute a queen! Hopefully this slides into album mode.
Respect the game/respect the name
“Muva” is definitely what we needed to start the half of the year. A release after the mothers’ month hits different, now that “Muva” is here, listen and share your thoughts:
