Zedmonk Ssabatontomi is a national treasure from the UG Hip Hop playing field. He is the first Ugandan to attempt a Rap Marathon individually, and also first to break the 48 hours and 1 minute record by Japanese rapper Poney.

This journey started at the beginning of the year when the rapper decided he wanted to attempt breaking the previous record. Flashforward, from 3 May to up until 6 May Zedmonk has been at it. He managed to reach 75 hours and 21 minutes. That’s insane if you ask me!

The previous record by Japanese rapper was broken on Sunday 5th May at Namaste. Further more he took a break and went ahead to pursue the 55 hours feat he set for himself, which he surpassed. He wanted to make it to 80 hours however he reached 75 hours. Pictured above he looked so tired and the support of revellers kept him going.

He has recieved attention from all walks of life, media, hip hop, music industry i.e Ragga Dee, Phina Mugerwa, Matovu Kane , Feffe Bussi, Flex D’Paper, Shemy B, Osie Entrance, Nase Avatar, Breezy Beats and so many more.

“It is really a blessing to see that people have come from different parts of the country [to witness]. I really never thought I would take it up to here. It was a real hustle of rehearsing and telling people it is possible…the limit is me!”

Zed narrated his experience after he had reached 48 hours of rapping.

Guiness World Record is yet to confirm to the world by verifying the submitted footage of the entire Rap Marathon from which accurate calculations of how long he rapped will be established. Note that the record holder is updated periodically.
