Stayput’s “Cente Me Nono” breathes pristine visual Storytelling

Stayput dropped the official video for “Cente Me Nono (Free Money)” on Saturday 14th June, 2025. The visually arresting clip undeniably builds momentum for this track. The song has already been circulating since last year.

Cente Me Nono” has been getting traction. This new music video adds layers of visual storytelling to the already unique song. The video touches on the track’s themes for example; aspirations, hustle, and the search for quick monetary gains.

Giniman produced the song. Nase Avatar mixed and mastered it. Israel Denis shot the video.

The core of this track conveys an important message. While getting money is the goal, it should not be nono (Luo for free). The gritty urban backdrops are really symbolic imagery of the hustle for the youth.

This emphasizes the overall message: we do not get used to free things, money. But put in the work to acquire these nice things.

In the very first frame of the project, you notice layers and layers of storytelling. Stayput delves into grinding for your bread. With Israel’s direction, the story connects. It opens up a cinematic appeal to the music video. A thug is arrested. The rapper walks down the streets. He has people joining him in the chant. This offers a possible other story with his smash song as a soundtrack.

Stayput is credited with several releases, including ”Old Chief Kakande”, “School Days” and “Do What I got to Do”, many of these forming part of a collection of strong thematic singles, which explore hustle culture and upward mobility.

“Cente Me Nono” aligns with the broader Ugandan Hip hop’s growing focus on social commentary. It also shows Stayput’s evolution from audio-only singles to fully realized visual storytelling.
