At this point in time Ugandan Hip Hop might have been on its way to the peak. The genre and culture had managed to garner main stream attention, rounds of events happening, rap beefs, and so much.
Balance of Power was released in 2011; as it served as a counter reaction to the alleged death of Competition at a time when many emcees had so much going on. Competition is Dead that features various artists had rotation on the now closed Hot100 – a posse that seemed to showcase a breed of rappers who were/would be disturbing the industry.
Then came the Urban Aksent Music/Black Reign project that featured Krackbone, Rugged ,Sulfuric, N.I, Atlas, Lethal and Bema who explore ideas such as competition, industry success and pursuit of dreams.
According to N.I in interview with So Severe he says it seemed the game was boring and he spoke to his friend to put together some of the sickest MCs and then BOP was birthed later on.
It was a well delivered song as regards content and the video got a nomination at the first Club Music Video awards in 2011.
