Baru links up with Soundlykbb for Proof of Life EP

This Friday, May 31st, Proof of Life was released. According to Sonic Treatment IG post states that Baru is the ” label manager” and the EP is described as “an unparalleled musical experience. „Proof of Life“ stands apart from typical productions, offering an organic and authentic sound.” The post also says the music is has “live instruments” recorded.

Soundlykbb has often times collaborated with the new wave of rappers such as Lagum, Rickman Manrick, CXNXD and others. His sound is unique. He is an alternative artist, much as he likes to identify as a dancehall artist sometimes. Many rappers are finding his voice as a necessary assist: like the American singer/rapper Don Toliver to Travis Scott and others.

With his somewhat husky, raspy voice and relatable Ugandan themes and street lingo, he rhymes words, Mr. Tumwesigye Trevor aka BB aka Soundlykbb isn’t a typical rapper. He taps into numerous influences. He has recently linked up with Baru under the Label/Imprint Sonic Treatment for forthcoming EP Proof of Life (POL).

Baru is no stranger to collaborative projects. In fact Baru has the most collab’ EPs as a producer from Hip Hop and out of Hip Hop (think Magdalene, Drugs, The New Wave series, African Stories).

POL guest features Likkle Bangi. Baru explores Afro beats, Amapiano, reggae and some trap sounds for this project offering BB a backdrop on the 5 songs. This isn’t a hip hop project.
